🥃 THE YAMAZAKI 12 YEAR OLD — THE ORIGINAL ERA
A piece of Japanese whisky history.
This is not simply another bottle of Yamazaki 12.
This is the older Yamazaki 12 Year Old presentation, complete with its distinctive original brown presentation box — a packaging era that has since been replaced.
Yamazaki is the flagship single malt of Suntory and comes from the Yamazaki Distillery, established in 1923 as Japan’s first and oldest malt whisky distillery. Its 12 Year Old expression has become one of the defining names in Japanese whisky. (House of Suntory)
And the whisky itself is extraordinary.
Yamazaki 12 brings together carefully selected malt whiskies matured in American oak, Spanish oak and Japanese Mizunara oak, creating the combination of ripe fruit, vanilla, delicate spice and the distinctive character that has made Yamazaki famous around the world. (Suntory)
But what makes these particular bottles interesting to collectors is the older presentation.
The Yamazaki 12 packaging was redesigned, with the newer label and box introduced from 2019 onward. The older brown-box presentation therefore belongs to a previous generation of the Yamazaki 12 release — something you simply cannot buy as new production today. (Kabuki Whisky)
And Yamazaki 12 isn’t resting on reputation alone.
In 2024, Yamazaki 12 was awarded Supreme Champion Spirit at the International Spirits Challenge — the highest-scoring Trophy winner across thousands of entries and the first time Yamazaki 12 had received the competition’s overall top honour. (Suntory)
