Saturdays in ! The go-to destination for a growing number of visitors enthralled by our town's charm and atmosphere, Stamford has so much to offer!
Weekends in are a joy, whether lounging on the meadows, shopping, eating, drinking, soaking up the history and the vibrant atmosphere that pervades this lovely town, helped in no small part by the mix of independent and bigger name retailers here, plus the volunteers who keep the place tidy, clean and always looking like a market town anyone would want to visit (looking at you, Neil Mcivor ). South Kesteven District Council SKDC supports a successful market throughout the town on Fridays and Saturdays, with Red Lion Square a busy community hub for people meeting up for dog-walks, coffee and tea mornings at Central Cafe tea rooms, and to observe the resident Peregrine falcons on All Saints Church ( Stamford Peregrines Stamford Peregrine Falcon Club ).
The range of goods on offer from a growing number of market stalls in the square is excellent, from freshly cooked Thai food from Tuk Tuk Foods, silver jewellery and pewter arts from Phil Ashcroft , stylish soft furnishings and lampshades from Roy Duff and Bridget, records from The Record Stall - Stamford Friday Market and children's author Laurence Davis with his original storybooks illustrated by William Healy
Constantly featured in lists of the best places to live in England, Stamford is also a fantastic town to visit - stay awhile amidst its ancient charm....
