Viral animal cruelty trends are spreading — and the law isn’t keeping up.
The Animal Sentience Committee warned that pre‑recorded cruelty videos aren’t automatically illegal under the Online Safety Act.
That means social media platforms can host videos of suffering animals — even when the acts shown would be criminal offline.
