A charming pair of German Baroque carved wooden putti, dating from the 18th century - https://jayarenski.com/product/pair-of-german-baroque-carved-wooden-putti-germany-18th-century/

Finely carved with expressive features, flowing drapery and wonderful Baroque movement, these beautifully executed figures retain an exceptional sense of character and a rich, mellow surface acquired over centuries.

Perfect as wall-mounted decorative sculptures or as a striking addition to a collection of Continental ecclesiastical and Baroque works of art.

Each measures approximately 60cm high × 48cm wide × 27cm deep.

Here we have a magnificent life-size Brienz Black Forest Golden Eagle 🦅 https://jayarenski.com/product/a-wonderfully-carved-life-size-brienz-black-forest-golden-eagle/

Wonderfully carved and dating to circa 1880, this exceptional eagle is probably the work of Alfred Stähli, one of the celebrated craftsmen associated with the Brienz carving tradition.

Standing an impressive 70cm high and measuring 78cm × 48cm, the carving is a superb example of the intricate detail and naturalistic character for which Black Forest sculpture is renowned.

For comparison, see pages 88–89 of The Art of the Black Forest by Jay Arenski and Simon Daniels.

A fine Nasrid Revival taracea occasional table, made in Granada, Spain, circa 1880 - https://jayarenski.com/product/a-fine-nasrid-revival-taracea-occasional-table-granada-spain-19th-century/

Of elegant hexagonal form, the table stands on six faceted legs terminating in spherical feet, with openwork spandrels shaped as mihrabs and decorated with foliate motifs.

The top and structure are richly inlaid with bone and intricate geometric marquetry, incorporating a variety of wood specimens to create a striking decorative effect.

A wonderful example of 19th-century Spanish craftsmanship, combining Moorish-inspired design with an exceptional level of decorative detail.

The Antinori Heraldic Lion, Perugia, circa 1870–1900.

A striking and substantial 19th-century terracotta lion, modelled with a full mane and expressive features, its powerful paw resting upon a shield bearing the arms of the Antinori family of Perugia.

Almost certainly created for an architectural or garden setting, the lion combines sculptural presence with the symbolism of aristocratic heraldry, strength, authority and lineage.

A rare and characterful survival of Italian aristocratic garden ornament.

This finely carved linden wood composition depicts a Parliament of Owls set upon a shield, described as an allegory of Earth. The expressive owls and intricate carving are characteristic of the imaginative and highly decorative work produced by the Swiss Black Forest carvers.

A wonderfully unusual piece with a strong sculptural presence and plenty of character.

I’m delighted to be exhibiting at The Autumn Decorative Fair in London, bringing with me a carefully selected collection of antique furniture, sculpture and decorative objects.

The Fair brings together some of the country’s leading specialist dealers, with an eclectic mix of antiques, art and design.

I’ll be showcasing a selection of recent acquisitions spanning the 18th to the 20th century, chosen for their character and decorative appeal.

I don’t want to recreate a Georgian drawing room or a Victorian cabinet of curiosities. I want a stand containing things from completely different worlds which somehow belong together.

Not because their dates match, but because their personalities do.

I look forward to welcoming collectors, interior designers and fellow antique enthusiasts to the Fair.
