Hello, hello 👋

Posts on here these days are few and far between... Since losing our daughter last June, I've taken a step back and life has changed significantly. It's hard to find that zest and creative buzz when navigating such a profound loss.

Since Little Wonders was essentially sitting in a corner gathering dust, I was surprised to receive some orders over Easter 🐰 (thank you).

I'm often asked whether I'll "get back in to it". That definitely remains to be seen, but what I do think is that to fall back in love with Little Wonders again, I need to take the pressure off and do it for myself again.

Let's see what the future holds 🤍

A weekend at the gorgeous

In a moment of madness, I signed up to this event back in June, just two weeks after losing my little girl, Thea. In the run up I had many moments of thinking "why did I do this?" And questioning if I was going to go ahead with it because all I wanted to do was curl up in to a ball. But I am so pleased I did go and I am beyond thankful for Lauren, for her tremendous efforts in organising this event, for her personal support and generosity in the lead up and for giving me something to work towards during the most devastating grief.

Apart from a wonderful distraction for me, I met some beautiful new small business friends, as well as old this weekend. There's nothing quite like all coming together and just appreciating one another's craft and skill, it is such a beautifully positive place to be.

Most of all, I am thankful to Thea, who was, is and will always be my inspiration in life and will always be my reason to keep going, to keep making her proud and to just keep growing, always learning from her strength and determination.

Well hey 👋

Long time no post... and this will be an open and honest one...

The saying when it rains it pours has been pretty fitting recently as it's been a pretty traumatic couple of months for our family... which is why I've put a hold on things here.

We've lost some extremely close family members in the past 6 weeks and our daughter has been incredibly ill in hospital for that time too.. at times we thought we might lose her too.

Focusing on anything business related was the furthest thing from my mind, but when times were at their darkest, the distraction of painting was so welcome. I had some commissions I'd agreed to and I honestly just couldn't focus on watching telly or reading a book and would drive myself MAD on Google or social media, so painting really helped focus my mind elsewhere.

It reminded me of where I began and why I started doing this. Honestly, to me it doesn't really matter how big or small a business Little Wonders is, I will just always be grateful for the therapeutic wonders it does for my mental health.

This little rainbow was one of those distractions I am grateful for. I wish I had the time to take more photos before it went to its new home, because I really loved it.

A little thank you to everyone who has ordered over the Easter period - I've been doing my best to get these orders completed and sent out by tomorrow/Wednesday and these will be sent 1st class.

The reason for my lack of content on here recently has been because we've had several weeks of being poorly in our house and our eldest was admitted to hospital last Monday... So currently my primary focus is on my family and getting my biggest baby home.

I'll be having a little break from orders and putting my Etsy shop on holiday mode.

Hopefully things settle again soon and I'll be able to get back to the swing of things 🤍
