The older I get, the less I’m interested in rooms that simply look beautiful. I want them to feel beautiful too.

This room has evolved over time. The headboard was reupholstered in Vanessa Arbuthnott fabric, while the armchairs once belonged to my gran. Rather than replacing them, I had them reupholstered in soft bouclé, giving them a whole new chapter while keeping a little piece of family history.

I’ve never believed every piece has to be expensive. Original Jackie Henderson paintings sit happily alongside a La Poire print from Desenio. If the colours, textures and mood work together, that’s all that really matters.

The rooms I love most aren’t the ones where everything matches. They’re the ones that have been collected over time, mixing old with new, investment pieces with affordable finds, and family heirlooms with things that simply make you smile.

HOME SERIES No. 2 | The Snug

This is our snug — a cosy little corner tucked into the kitchen and very much our place to unwind.

It’s where we catch up on the day, listen to music, put the world to rights and usually end up with a glass of wine in hand.

I’ve always loved blending old with new, and this room sums that up perfectly. Years ago, I stumbled across Furniture Spraying Scotland, who take beautifully made vintage pieces and give them a new lease of life. The sideboard is an old Stag piece, reimagined in Farrow & Ball’s De Nimes Blue, while the Alternative Flooring Margot Selby rug brings a contemporary burst of colour and pattern underfoot.

I love the contrast of vintage and modern pieces sitting comfortably alongside one another. For me, homes should evolve over time, filled with things you genuinely love rather than simply following trends.

Cosy, colourful and completely us 💙

THE HOME SERIES | NO.1 ❤️

People often ask me where my love of interiors comes from — and whether our home is as colourful as the shop. The honest answer is absolutely.

I’ve always believed a home should feel warm, welcoming and full of personality. Home by Julia Nairn gives me endless inspiration, but I very much believe in living with what you love — colour, texture, pattern and pieces that make you happy.

This staircase sums that up perfectly for me — a bold Alternative Flooring Margo Selby carpet with Farrow & Ball Bancha panelling. A hallway should make you smile too.

I thought I’d start sharing little snippets of my home each week — the spaces, colours and ideas I live with, and perhaps a little inspiration for your own homes along the way 🤍

As a rule, I try not to take work home with me. When these cushions landed in store earlier in the week, it was love at first sight.
They now live with me. Woven in a dense 100% cotton twill, rich blue ticking and stripes and filled with a feather pad. Perfection.
We have new stock arriving daily, come and have a browse.
