Workshop closed, back on Monday 18th

Apologies for the lack of activity and missed emails/messages (computer issues and user incompetence 😂), I think I have now replied to everybody, but if I have missed you just let me know.

Re spoking a EX471 rim on a Pro 4 rear hub

Pictures;

1 general wheel building tools
2 hub/rim/Noble
3 using a surface height gauge to check fl**ge offset
4 using a points on a caliper to check PCD
5 using the Centrimaster ERD tool to check the rim ERD
6 cutting/threading on the spoke machine
7 uncut and cut/threaded spokes
8 squorx black brass ni***es
9 rebuilt wheel
10 valve hole/logo

For these components the published specs are spot on, but it's a good habit to check and make sure your spoke lengths will be correct. The surface height gauge, caliper with points and ERD tool make it very quick and easy to get accurate measurements.

Today's seized seatpost removal was a slight challenge, as somebody had cut the seatpost off flush with the frame, and started cutting 4 slots at an angle (though only for a couple of inches). I cut 2 vertical slots the whole length of the seatpost 180* apart. I was then able to remove the post one half at a time using molegrips attached to a slide hammer. More time consuming than normal but the post was removed without damaging the frame.

Grease your seatpost, and check it regularly!
