125 homes on Cheadle Hume Station Car Park update:
Somebody posted the following link in regard to my post on Nextdoor.
“Landolt + Brown has been appointed to develop designs for four station upgrade sites to the south of Manchester by LCR, working in partnership with Network Rail, Northern, and Transport for Greater Manchester. Each site is part of the Government’s initiative to develop brownfield sites in sustainable locations adjacent to rail stations…”

An interesting
125 Houses on Cheadle Hulme Station Car Park
Stockport's Local Housing Plan has earmarked the very busy Cheadle Hulme Station Car Park for a 125 residential homes. As someone who works for a small business located less than 75 yards from the Station there has been no communication regarding these proposals.
Despite the huge impact to the area, including for commuters, existing residents and local businesses there has been little consultation.
The increase in traffic will make a congested Station Road far worse. The small Pay and Display car park behind the Station House pub, is usually full by 08:30 in the week days meaning business workers and shoppers are unable to find parking spaces. This will mean that people will start parking on local residential roads. It is sheer stupidity and underhanded to even consider building more houses in Cheadle Hulme Village.
Please contact your local Councillor to object to the plans before its too late.
Details can be found on page 19 of the 'Site Allocations Topic Paper' published September 2026.
