What. A. Weekend. 💛

We officially opened Mooch on Saturday, and honestly, we could not have asked for a better start. The weather had other plans (rain, rain, and more rain ☔), so we braced ourselves for a quieter day… and then you all just kept coming! 🙌🏼 😃

Our first customers were in before we even officially opened at 10am, and then right through to 4:30pm, it was non-stop. We were completely blown away. 🥹

Sunday again was brilliant, we were kept on our toes the whole day.

A massive thank you to everyone who popped in, picked something up, or just came to say hi and check out the shop — it means the absolute world to us. 🫶🏽

And to our amazing neighbouring businesses, friends and family who’ve cheered us on from day one, thank you for making Stockport feel like the best place to open our doors 🙏♥️

We’ve loved hearing all your lovely comments about the shop, the vibe, and the little details — you’ve made us feel so welcome already.🥰

Hello 👋🏼 Over 1,000 instagram followers in four days and hundreds of messages of support... we’re honestly blown away. 🫶🏽✨

It feels like the perfect time for a proper introduction.

I’m Emma, a Stockport girl born and bred, so opening a shop here with my husband feels pretty surreal. I have so many memories of the town centre growing up – from visiting Toy & Hobby in the early ‘80s to spending far too much time (and money!) in NS2 by the market as a teenager in the ‘90s.

My great-aunt Lily also had a stall in the indoor market for many years, so Stockport has always been part of my family’s story.

To now be opening our own shop at such an exciting time for the town feels really special. There’s so much energy in Stockport, and we’re so happy to be part of this amazing community. 🙌🏼

Mooch is bright, colourful and a little different – curated homewares, mood-lifting designs and gifts from independent makers you won’t find on every high street. It’s the kind of shop I’ve always loved discovering, and now I get to create one myself.

If we’re helping make Stockport just that little bit cooler, I’ll happily take that! 😄 We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome you all. 💛

It’s bold, it’s bright and we love it! ✨🌵

From the moment we got the keys, there was only one person we wanted for the job — Gregg from Cactus Sign Painting.

We gave him free rein to just go for it, with no real brief, no restrictions, just trust. And wow, did he deliver.

The skill. The precision. That freehand shadow work?! We are obsessed. Thank you Gregg for giving MOOCH a fabulous shop front. 💛

We were originally the same colour as next door so we gave our shopfront a glow-up.

We figured MOOCH deserved to stand out, not blend in — so we gave the front a brighter, bolder new look.

The corbels, the cornicing, all that lovely old craftsmanship — we didn’t want to cover it up, we wanted to bring it back to life. 💛
