There’s been a lot of negative press surrounding e-bikes recently - and understandably so.
Illegal and modified e-bikes, alongside electric motorbikes and other machines being ridden illegally on the road, have brought a lot of unwanted attention to the wider e-bike industry.
But we believe it’s important to make a distinction. The problem isn’t legal, compliant e-bikes. It’s these illegal machines that are being used on our roads and trails.
Properly built, legal e-bikes are a fantastic way to get people riding, commuting and enjoying cycling. But as an industry, we have a responsibility to make sure customers know exactly what they’re buying and understand the importance of safety and compliance.
That’s why we’re proud to be aligned with E-Bike Positive as an approved retailer.
E-Bike Positive promotes responsible e-bike retailing and best practice across the industry, with a focus on safe, legal and compliant e-bikes. For us, that means putting safety, quality and honest advice first - and helping our customers make informed decisions when it comes to electric bikes.
With so much negative attention around e-bikes, illegal conversions and electric motorbikes at the moment, we think it’s more important than ever for responsible retailers to stand up and show that legal e-bikes have a positive place in cycling. 💚
