So yeah, have you always wanted a ridiculous guitar that you have to keep polishing finger marks off?

This started life as a Squier Strat before being electroplated in chrome and hung on the ceiling of a Hard Rock Cafe. Then I got hold of it and decided to make it play, and now it does.

Could you gig it? Yes.
Should you gig it? Probably not.
Is it a high quality guitar? Not particularly.
Does it look the part? Absolutely.

This lovely Gibson Custom '61 reissue Les Paul/SG represents the crossover between the original Les Paul design and what would eventually become known as the SG. The owner paid me a massive compliment by bringing it to me shortly after he bought it because, in his words, he always feels better once I've given his guitars a check over and declared them all good. This one needed a few tiny tweaks, but it's an absolute monster. Love the colour too, just the right amount of red.

I'm not an SG guy, so I guess it makes sense that it's a Les Paul.

A fairly pink in for a few tweaks. I was really impressed with this. Super well put together, great fretwork (though it needed a very light dress), well wired electronics in nicely shielded cavities and a fantastic neck fit. All the things that all companies should get right, but often don't. Top marks.

I've seen a lot of this guitar over the years, here are a few of the things I've learned to keep it on the road. It used to need near constant maintenance, now it's maybe twice a year!
