Join us for an evening of conversation with two North East crime writing favourites - Michael Wood and Trevor Wood.

Friday 9th October - 7:00pm - Drake the Bookshop.

Trevor Wood is an award-winning writer of gritty crime novels set in the North East. His highly-acclaimed debut novel, The Man on the Street, set in Newcastle’s homeless community, picked up the Crime Writers’ Association’s John Creasey New Blood Dagger and the Crimefest Specsavers Debut Novel of the Year. It was also shortlisted for the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year.

The Angel of Death is the third in Trevor Wood’s new series featuring DCI Jack Parker, who’s confronting the one killer he can’t stop: early onset dementia.

We had a fun morning despite the rain and a huge thank you to John at for being an excellent host!

If you enjoyed the magical thing that happens in your brain when you sit with people and read together - we have Quiet Club in the shop every Tuesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, and keep your eyes peeled on socials for details of a regular Sunday morning Park Read (or shop read if raining!)

We are delighted to announce that ahead of his appearance on Sunday, CBeebies Superstar GEORGE WEBSTER will be popping into DRAKE to sign some books and meet fans.

From 2:30pm on Saturday 8th August, George will be with us on Silver Street signing and dedicating books for fans.

No booking required but do hurry along as stock will be limited.
