I recently gave up a teaching career to do something artistic......to follow my heart and feed my soul. I enjoy making things in my spare time and am delighted other people like them too. Shortly after I gave up my job I twisted some wire I had lying around attached it to a crystal drop and made an angel. Proud of my efforts I posted a picture online and suddenly people wanted me to make similar o

nes for them. Before I knew it I had 2 pages of orders. I had so many angels lying around awaiting collection that I needed somewhere to store them so I hung them on a decorative tree in my living room and The Angel Tree was born. As well as wire and bead brooches, rings and necklaces. I still make the fairies and angels which are proving very popular as party and wedding favours. The bride has a tree full of fairies to match her colour scheme. The female guests choose a fairy from the tree and then grant a wish for the bride and groom which they then write on heart shaped paper and attach to the tree. The guests have a beautiful keepsake in the form of a fairy and the bride and groom have a tree full of wishes. I also run adult workshops and fairy making parties for children.

Sorry I’ve been so quiet…I had the pleasure of watching my little girl get married and the honour of being mother of the bride! It was a wonderful day! I made 101 personalised tambourines as place settings and decorated my own hat too!

I’m back at my crafting table…Daisies make lovely end of year gifts for teachers, pupil support workers and staff….. they love to see them wear them year on year. A bit late for Scotland as we break up next week but plenty of time for England
