Phase 2
Things have been quiet here for weeks now.
Chocolate has been packed away, fudge making non existent, nothing edible produced for a while now.
With the usual dilemma of how to support myself over the summer the focus has returned to art work.
And it feels great!
I've been able to get creative again using mediums that don't dissolve into puddles in the heat 😂
I have been able to give free rein to all the projects that were relegated over the last few months, and I've been able to dig deep enough to find my voice.
Ironically enough, although so much of what I do revolves around skulls and bones, flaws and decay, it's never really been about death.
I've been trying to express time, or maybe impermanence.
The way it can be measured in the traces it leaves behind.
The flaws that hint at a life lived imperfectly.
The brief moments that will never be repeated.
I'm not trying to express death, I'm trying to make people stop and see the things that have always been there.
The beauty in moments that will never be repeated.
