Hello. Poor Besson cornet in for repair. Owner has tried a home solder job on the waterkey mechanism and discovered its not as easy as it looks. Last pic shows old bracket and solder removed and replaced with a mechanism from a B&H Sovereign from spares box. Not a perfect match but looking much neater.

Excellent beginner trumpet for sale. £95.00. Yamaha 1335. Please see pics. This trumpet has had one previous owner and has been chemically cleaned and serviced in my workshop.

With brands like Yamaha, beginner does not mean inferior in quality of build, it tends to mean the trumpet does not have some features found in professional instruments and is of a narrower bore making it easier to blow for a young embouchure but it lacks the richness and variety of tone of a big bore top end instrument. This one comes with a Vincent Bach 7c mouthpiece which is a mid range mouthpiece recommended for beginners. The low price is due to some cosmetic issues (see pics) where nervous fingers have scratched/ worn the lacquer finish off. The does not affect the playing at all. Comes with a small, solid case. Busy day. The trombone bell had been crushed almost flat! The lacquer finish is long gone hence no grease or greaseproof paper around the burnisher. Damage too extensive to worry about such niceties anyway. The soldering is for another (valve) trombone. Lengthening a stay and re-attaching.

Baritone horn in a bad way! Valve casing looks like it took some damage and has twisted knocking a lot of tubing out of alignment and popping loose some stays. Best to strip down, rebuild and repair as I go. Its a Yamaha 301 so worth the effort! Going to start repairing thread on the valve block.

New 'Tesch' cleaners arrived. You'd be surprised just how much 'gunk' builds up on the inside of your instrument. Not a pretty sight when its flushed out!
