Baby Basics Leicester needs our help!!

I am thrilled to be running an incentive called a "Community Book Pledge" on behalf of Baby Basics Leicester 🩷🩵💛

The initiative is to help raise money for new books through a partnership between local businesses and the community.

If any of my lovely customers and followers would like to make a donation to help buy much needed books, your support would be very much appreciated.

The books will benefit new babies and young Children in their development right here in Leicester!

As most of you know, I've had the absolute honour of working in partnership with the truly wonderful Sarah McTighe and the gorgeous therapy dogs Nora and Yogi so far this year 🐾

Sarah is no longer a volunteer with Therapy Dogs Nationwide and has moved to another therapy dog charity.

We have the most amazing partnership and I've totally fallen i love with those beautiful fluff balls so....

After developing so much trust, understanding and connection....I am very proud to be continuing this incredible journey with Sarah and my bookshop into the next academic year and into 2027 through Therapy dog Charity Canine Concern CIO 💙

Here’s to more wagging tails, cuddles, smiles and the incredible impact these beautiful dogs have on the lives of so many people 🐾

To celebrate the National Year of Reading (and now beyond) I've had the incredible opportunity to join forces with the wonderful Sarah from Therapy Dogs Nationwide 💛🐾

Together, we have been touring schools (and preschoosl) across Leicestershire, running our Ready, Steady, Read (Paw's and Read) sponsored reading events.

Many children feel nervous about reading aloud in front of adults or their classmates. Therapy dogs provide a calm, friendly, and non-judgemental audience, helping children relax, build confidence, and enjoy reading. Spending time with dogs can also reduce stress and promote feelings of comfort and companionship.

Not only do schools raise funds to receive free books for their libraries and classrooms, which has seen over £2,000 of books being delivered so far, but they also enjoy a very special visit from one of Sarah's gentle "cuddle monsters" – her beautiful Bernese Mountain Dogs "Nora and Yogi" 🐾

With the National year of reading, this is truly a wonderful way to celebrate! 📖

We have just a couple of spaces available for the remainder of 2026, and I am super excited to be continuing this inspiring journey with Sarah into 2027!
