We have these gorgeous panels in stock which lend themselves to both bags and cushions.

Here, I've used one panel on the front with a coordinating fabric on the bag and a contrast for the lining and handles.

Pop in and take a look and I may even have finished the cushion too 😂

We've had three brilliant workshops this week.

Today was a 'how to use your sewing machine' and they all made tote bags to consolidate their learning. (In between a lot of chat and tea and biscuits of course!)

Friday saw two people making the plaited handle beach bags - fun and super useful.

And Tuesday was the Mapkehurst dress workshop. The three dresses were beautiful and lots more skills learnt.

Check out Anita in her Serene jumpsuit.

She has used the stretch cotton (a beautiful weight and just enough give to make it comfy!) we have in stock to make it with, and I think it looks absolutely fabulous 😍.

We are looking forward to seeing the second one she has planned.

The Size me Sewing patterns all come with a video tutorial too so you get plenty of help with this pattern.

Here we have our resident model (and awesome dressmaking tutor!) showing off the Essential Edit skirt.

It is made of a lovely weight viscose twill which is perfect for your spring and summer makes.

The workshop to make this is on June 22nd and whilst we can't guarantee you will look like Lucy, it will be a well fitting skirt!
It will make a great addition to your wardrobe and I will be making one just as soon as I can decide what fabric to use 😂

Have you tried sashiko? Essentially, it is a simple method of creating patterns with a running stitch where the stitches do not overlap.

We have a wide variety of kits with everything in them ready for you to start. Or, create your own patterns using a template and your own choice of threads. 

There are some great sashiko books in stock too to aid your creativity - the possibilities are endless!!

We run sashiko workshops to and the next one is on sat 16th may 10-1. Call in or get in touch by phone or email if you would like a space.

Are you in a denim kind of mood? Or maybe a lighter weight chambray?

We have a good variety of denims for you to choose and plenty of patterns to tempt you too!

I am contemplating making some trousers out of the fine striped denim - don't worry, they are not for the summer as by the time I get to do them it will be autumn 😊 (too many other projects I want to do first!!)

Did you know we offer the full range of DMC mouline thread colours?

Alongside those, we have embroidery thread storage solutions (who doesn't love some tidy threads?) and a good selection of books too.

Don't forget to take a look at the adhesive transfers (they rinse off once you have done your stitching) or maybe a kit or two.

Embroidery is easy to pack so you can take it away with you for a few minutes of stitching bliss.

Anita is one of our regular customers and workshop attendees and deserves a huge round of applause. (And she was wearing a very gorgeous Everyday Chic dress from !)

She came in last week for social sewing and brought her London marathon medal in too😮.

I am soooo impressed with anyone that can run that far and apart from some blisters she is in remarkably good shape post marathon!

I think I would be laying in a heap on the floor after mile 5 😂😂.

Did any of you run/walk/crawl the marathon this year??
