Yesterday was a busy, but fun teaching day in the workshop. A group session in the morning and a 121 in the afternoon.

Five sewing machines were taken out of boxes, retrieved from dark corners and brought to the session. After three hours, everyone was able to thread up their machines, and have the confidence to make a tote bag, including zigzagging the inside edges.

In the afternoon, I was teaching how to shorten clothing to someone who has been paying to have this done for her. She is going to save a lot of money now she can do it herself!

By the time I got home and sat down with a hot cuppa, it was an absolute delight to read the review that had been left for us. A lovely end to a great day.

Four fabulous Julia Angie t-shirts were made on Wednesday using overlockers.

After a morning session of learning how to thread up and use their machines, the t-shirts were a consolidation of all that new knowledge.

It was great to catch up with Jane from sussex_seamstress patterns yesterday. She had a stand at the Brighton quilt show and it was lovely to see her in person again.

We use many of her patterns in our workshops and she is so obliging when I forget to order them in time and sends them as soon as she can for me!!

I had a great morning at the quilt show in Brighton with .
Lots of inspiring stalls and some great quilts- I particularly loved the zebra and the pebbles.

Did we buy much?? Actually no!! A Christmas present and a small bundle of fat 1/8ths between us ....... However, I do have my eye on some fabric from an independent producer. I just need to work out what I'm going to make with it first......

Wow - the picture you can see is of 95 drain bottle bags that were made today .

We had a wonderful group of sewers who gave up their time to sew these for the Worthing breast care unit.

To everyone that makes these through the year, and to our ladies today - a very big thank you. ❤️

They really do make a difference to the recipients who are going through surgery.

Just me, my sewing machine and a pile of customer repairs .❤️
Coffee is on hand, radio is on and I'm looking forward to a day of sewing 🙂.
I might even finish off the advent calendars that are half done!

It's been a while since I had the luxury of a day of uninterrupted sewing. Even the weather is obliging by raining so no guilt about being indoors😂

New fabrics....

Seven years ago we received the keys to 21 West Street. As you can see, we were very excited as Sue's face shows !!

What followed was 5 weeks of cleaning, painting, more painting (three coats everywhere!) and building flat pack shelving. We had some amazing friends (and family of course!) who helped with painting, feeding us and generally being absolutely supportive.

So much has happened since we put the paintbrushes down..... there has been sadness, there was a pandemic , there has been laughter (much of that!) and the overriding support of our customers .

Thank you all for your part you play in making Stitch a pleasure to own 😊
