Sometimes the best bits of market weekends have absolutely nothing to do with selling 😂

We overheard this exchange at MK Handmade and Vintage this weekend and had to use every ounce of self-control not to get involved.

Because…HOT CHOCOLATE.

Maybe he collects bottle openers?
Does he open his hot chocolate with a bottle opener?
Is his hot chocolate bottled?
WHERE is he buying bottled hot chocolate?
Has she fundamentally misunderstood what a bottle opener does?
Does he drink beer as well?

We’ll never know.

What we do know is that “Things we overhear at markets” may have just become a new series 😂

And yes, if you actually drink something requiring a bottle opener, we can help with that.

Day two at MK Handmade & Vintage! We’re back at The Centre MK today from 10.30am until 5pm, with a stall full of handmade gifts, homeware and plenty of pieces you won’t find on the high street.

It’s your last chance to catch us in Milton Keynes until the end of October when we’ll back laden with “C” word goodies for the winter fair, so come and have a proper browse if you’re nearby. We’d love to see you!

September is looking busy and we are ready for some cosy evenings and crunchy leaves! 🍂

Aside from that we’ve got three jam packed weekends lined up this month!

📍 5th & 6th September
We’re back at MK Handmade & Vintage at Centre:MK MK Handmade and Vintage

📍 18th–20th September
A whole three days at the Bedfordshire Steam & Country Fayre at Shuttleworth Shuttleworth

📍 26th & 27th September
Then Annie & Bea are stretching their legs and heading to West Sussex for the South of England Autumn Show & Horse Trials South of England Agricultural Society

If you saw yesterday’s reel you’ll know September also means we’re officially heading into our favourite time of year for making. Autumn bits, Christmas bits and probably far too many new ideas making their way onto the stall 🙈

The weather has officially autumned and having spent possibly the hottest month starting work on the Christmas collection we are here for it!

So consider this your public service announcement…ITS ONLY 17 FRIDAYS TILL CHRISTMAS!! 🎄🎅

Our Christmas collection will be coming to you in just a few weeks so get ready for some sneaky peeks. We’ve already had some custom requests made in the order book so if there’s something you’re looking for let us know!

And after all, Andy says it’s the most wonderful time of the year so who are we to disagree!

But here we are.

If you saw Annie’s posts from the weekend you’ll know Christmas prep has officially started at Red Berry and these little guys are currently taking over the painting table.

There’s something very strange about working on Christmas pieces while it’s still light outside at 8pm, but after telling ourselves every year that we’ll be more organised next Christmas, apparently 2026 is the year we finally meant it.

These aren’t finished yet, but you loved them last year so you might be able to guess what they are for!

We’ve been keeping a little secret… 👀

RED BERRY CRAFTS HAS A SECOND SHOP SPACE! 🎉

You can now find us at Absolutely ShabbyLass on Castle Road in Bedford and honestly, we couldn’t have found a much better fit.

Maria has created a gorgeous space filled with gifts and crafts from local artisans, with a real focus on pieces that are thoughtfully made and make use of recycled materials and leftover offcuts. Which is basically where Red Berry began.

Our earliest pieces were made by rescuing wood from our family business that would otherwise have gone to waste and, although we’ve grown since then, that approach to materials has never really left us.

But there’s another reason we think you should come and find us…Castle Road is SUCH a good little place for a mooch.

There are independent cafĂŠs and delis dotted along the road, some genuinely brilliant charity shops and now Maria has opened the Hibiscus Lounge tearoom right inside too.

That sounds like a pretty decent afternoon to us.

DAY TWO… WE’RE BACK! 👋

After a full day at the Cambridge Country Show yesterday, we’ve restocked, reset and we’re ready to do it all again today.

We’ve got a whole stand full of handmade Red Berry bits with us, from gifts and homeware to plenty of chickens causing trouble as usual 🐔

If you’re heading to the show today, come and have a nose around, say hello and tell us what catches your eye.
