We had an absolutely brilliant night at the 2026 Birmingham Chinese New Year Celebration Gala on Sunday. It was a wonderful celebration as Birmingham welcomed the Year of the Horse, a symbol of energy, strength and good fortune.

We were delighted to be there alongside Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, and Councillor Zaker Choudhry, Lord Mayor of Birmingham.

Big congratulations to our piano technician Iain, who walked away with a lucky money cat (招财猫 zhaocai mao), a traditional Chinese symbol said to bring prosperity and good luck.

A fantastic few days for Danemann Pianos at Music China 2025, Shanghai!

We truly appreciate the fabulous attention and wonderful feedback for our grand pianos and range of uprights on our stand at the International China Music 2025 Show in Shanghai.

With the introduction of the new DG-186 grand, a model with dominant character and an excitingly delicate dynamic, we’ve added another remarkable instrument to the comprehensive range of Danemann pianos.

Kawai UK launch event: Novus NV6 and NV12

Broughton Pianos were honoured to be invited to the Kawai Novus NV6 and NV12 launch event, where Kawai unveiled their new flagship hybrid digital pianos. We were lucky enough not only to hear them, but to play them ourselves.

Thomas and Freddie also met some of Kawai’s leading technicians, who shared insights into the groundbreaking technology behind these instruments.

We were treated to a performance by the legendary Harry the Piano on the NV12, which was both virtuosic and hilariously entertaining - a real highlight of the day.

In the next few days we’ll be sharing a recording of Thomas performing on the Kawai Novus NV12. The two new Novus models will also be arriving in our showroom in the coming weeks.
