Under intellectual property law, basic functional concepts (like an open ring to hang glasses on) generally cannot be copyrighted—only highly specific, unique artistic expressions of that concept can be. Because you took your own photos and are selling a simple geometric circle, your counter-notice is still highly robust. The French claimant has 10–14 business days to either take you to court (which is practically impossible over a generic functional circle brooch) or let Etsy automatically reinstate your listing.
