03/01/2022
In early Spring 2021 I was entering the final months of my maternity leave. It had been a long and at times lonely road. Continuous lockdowns during my pregnancy and throughout the first months of Luna’s life left me feeling desperate for connection. Not to mention I was terrified about going back to work, after over a year off already what if I didn’t fit in anymore? On top of these emotions postpartum had been brutal and the residual emotions still lingered, I felt like I had lost myself completely.
It was in this season Earth+Santo was born. I worked around the clock to build our community. I made wonderful connections with small businesses and used my savings to stock E+S with products that aligned with my personal beliefs. However, juggling my time became incredibly difficult and in the end I chose to be more present with my daughter and soak up those precious moments.
Of course slowly I had to let go of of my dreams for E+S, I closed the website just a few months in and while the beautiful products from the amazing companies I’d discovered collected dust, my embarrassment and sense of failure grew. I didn’t log onto here for a long time
Until, I decided I needed to sell what I had bought and I posted the previous post promising a sale soon. It was right around this time our house was hit with illness after illness and once again E+S took a back seat.
So, why am I’m telling you all this? Because I am deeply grateful for the 400 people still following E+S, because I still want to connect with and feel a sense of community.
Moving into 2022 I am excited. I’ve been on a journey of self discovery and feel more myself then ever before. Admittedly I know my limitations now and understand that although starting a business may not be right for me at this time, I want to grow this community and share with you all what I have learnt. I’ll be logging in from time to time to share ideas, thoughts and inspiration with you all surrounding personal growth and motherhood and of course I’ll be supporting those wonderful businesses who inspired me all those months ago! I am slowly nurturing some ideas I have for the future but for now…
Happy New Year with love E+S
