In August 2022 we constructed 6 pens and a kitchen for Ipswich and District Animal Welfare Centre , it was always intended to be a 2 stage construction and in October 2023 we returned to work on phase 2.
The existing brick building was demolished to make way for the extended concrete base, frames and components delivered and the jigsaw put together, despite the ice and the mud the team pressed on and the extension added without even having to move any cats out of the existing pens...
All in a days work for the Peticular team (well 10 days actually)

After a crazy few months it is time to catch up.
Back in 2017 we built a boarding cattery in Wisbeach, for reasons of their own the owners decided to pack up and sell the 8 year old building, they had taken good care of it and it was in good shape.
We started by taking the roof off and then worked from the top down, removed the insulation, then the ceilings, glazing, mesh, panels and shelves and after a few days it was ready to load for transport in a 7.5 tonne lorry and 2 van loads 70 miles cross country to East Coast Pet Rescue.
The piles of parts were unloaded and reconstruction began.
2 weeks later the building was completely reassembled in its new location and I have to say even we were surprised at how well it went back together and more importantly how good it looks which is a testament to the use of high quality materials, great design and fastidious workmanship.
Our thanks to ECPR for taking a chance on a used building and for looking after us in the baking heat, we are confident the building will continue to provide shelter for cats in need for many years to come.

Was an absolute pleasure! Thankyou for taking care of us in this heat! 😁.

Back in April of 2023 we were off on an adventure!
After months of logistical planning we we're off
the Guernsey to the GSPCA, Guernsey to build a
set of purpose built pens inside of the existing
centre.

The project included some Holding Pens, an
Avairy, Recovery Pods and a purpose built office/
storage area in a blank room that had to be
serprated, so we built two uPVC dividing walls to
split the room up into its three sections

First off, the holding pens were built and designed
to our usual standard, with a mesh ceiling to help
with ventilation

The Avairy was built with fixed mesh openings, to
give the birds a flow of fresh air, and plenty of
space to hang / set up anything the birds will need
for their recovery

Last off we built a section of movable "recovery
pods" for any small furries who need a little extra
time to recover.

Safe to say was a logistical challenge, but as always was a pleasure to work with everyone
involved at the centre and we wish you all the best
with your new bespoke recovery units.

Back in November of 2022 we were off to
Bransgore, just on the edge of the New Forest
National Park to construct two higher standard
uPVC cat pens for Sandra who had decided to
start rescuing ferals on her own!

As always, the pens have been built to the "Higher
Standard" specification, with a double insulated
outer skin, fully thermostaticlly controlled sleeping
areas to give the cats somewhere warm, or cool to
go and rest their heads and our Storm sash
weather protection.

A big thankyou to Sandra for keeping us going
with the Teas, Coffees and Sandwiches and as
always thankyou for choosing us!

The wet and windy October of 2022 took us back to RSPCA Suffolk Central to build a purpose built bespoke a new, clean, calm and quiet uPVC Avairy. The build consisted of a storage area and 2 separate enclosed rooms, each with its own thermostaticlly controlled heated sleeping area so the birds have somewhere to tuck away and hide if it suits them. As usual a fully insulated Kingspan Composite panel roof was fitted to help defend against some of the large branches located around the building.

As always, big thankyou to the branch staff for having us and, as always, thankyou for the cuddles with the animals!

Hedgerows was one of our early builds and the cattery still looks as good as the day we finished it, Claire and Richard have delivered excellent service and care over the years and we would like to thank them for their support over the years wish them all the very best for the future.

Hi everyone. We just want to share some important news with you all.

After 10 great years building and running Hedgerows and following many long agonising discussions, we have taken the tough decision that it is time to move on.

We will be looking to sell Hedgerows as a going concern and hope the new owners will love it and enjoy it as much as we have and still do.

Over our time we have met many wonderful cats and their loving owners and feel very privileged that you have entrusted their care to us.

As I’m sure you are all very aware these things do not happen quickly and we can guarantee all of the bookings you have currently with us.

If anyone out there is interested in taking over from us or knows someone who is please get in touch.

Claire & Richard 🐾
