We have fresh and translated fiction; new additions to our fabulous art display; recently published history (including two books published in 2026); and a range of graphic novels for all ages. Oh, and many, many more, of course - but you'll have to pop in to find those...

💜 We are incredibly proud to share that The Shakespeare Hospice has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) — the highest recognition possible for health and care services in England.
This achievement belongs to every single person who makes our hospice what it is.
From our clinical teams to our administrators, fundraisers, retail teams, trustees and hundreds of volunteers — every person plays a part in ensuring patients and families receive exceptional care, compassion and support when they need it most.
To be recognised as Outstanding reflects not only the quality of our care, but the kindness, dignity and humanity that sit at the heart of everything we do.
We are privileged to support people across South Warwickshire and remain committed to helping people live as well as possible, for as long as possible — ensuring nobody faces end of life alone.
Thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, supporters and community. This recognition belongs to all of you. 💜

We have a new collection of classical music biographies on display, all from the library of, and signed by composer/conductor Arthur Butterworth. Mr. Butterworth was appointed MBE in 1995 and died in 2014, leaving a rich legacy described as "Northern impressionism," including seven symphonies, eight concertos, and music for brass. A prolific member of the Lakeland Composers, he was also clearly a keen reader, and these books provide a rare and intimate snapshot into his musical interests. All are on sale by the till now.

On Saturday 25 April, to coincide with Shakespeare's Birthday Parade, we'll be running a one-day offer on this vintage set of mini Shakespeare plays, complete with tiny bookcase.

The item is currently for sale at £225 and can be bought for full price at any time during the day. However, between 9:30 - 16:30, we will also be collecting best offers over £150!

Entrants will be asked to write their offer and telephone number onto a piece of paper, and our manager will call the entrant with the closest offer to £225 at the end of the day - that is, if the set hasn't already been claimed at full price.

Entrants data will be stored in our safe and destroyed once the buyer has been notified and confirmed purchase. Any questions about the offer can be directed here or to The Shakespeare Hospice Bookshop.

Good luck!
