Full-Time Horticultural Sales Assistant
Do you know your plants, enjoy helping customers and love working in a garden centre?
We’re looking for an experienced Horticultural Sales Assistant to join our busy plant team at Stratford Garden Centre.
We’re a family-run independent garden centre, and plants are at the heart of what we do. We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for horticulture who enjoys sharing their knowledge with customers and takes pride in keeping a plant department looking its best.
What you’ll be doing
Your day will be varied and hands-on, including:
Helping customers choose the right plants and offering knowledgeable advice
Caring for and maintaining a wide range of plants throughout the department
Replenishing stock and keeping plants presented to a high standard
Creating attractive and inspiring plant displays
Pricing, merchandising and general department duties
Keeping the plant area clean, tidy and well presented
Working as part of a friendly team to deliver excellent customer service
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have previous experience working in horticulture or a garden centre and a good level of plant knowledge. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys plants and is confident talking to customers about them.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoys helping customers
Confident with their horticultural knowledge
Reliable and happy working as part of a team
Comfortable working in a busy retail environment
Practical and happy with the hands-on nature of working in a plant department
Enthusiastic about keeping standards high
This is a full-time position, working alternate weekends with a regular day off during the week.
