I just read a post on a Stroud based facebook group asking that people not advertise their businesses.

The number of places where you can share your business to a local facebook group are few and far between, but people are asking for recommendations for local providers.

So I’ve just set up a facebook group “ShopStroud” you will recognise our logo.

So there you are, use it, don’t abuse it. Share your business successes, your meet ups, etsy shops and church jumble sales, offers and so on.

Only rules are, you must be a Stroud based business, charity, organisation (obvs self-employed count too) and you must be polite and kind.

Introducing Emily and Deb, the mother and daughter duo behind Fiorella {Italian for ‘Little Flower', a name close to their hearts}.

These are two truly creative ladies both capable of making anything they touch look incredible!

​They love to grow their own flowers, and more and more of their arrangements are supplemented with British grown blooms. They are passionate about looking after the environment and this is just one of the ways they are working towards a greener way of running their business.

Introducing Orange Frog Boutique and their fabulous lampshades!

Sue and Sam are a mother and daughter team making striking and often unique lampshades.

Sam came up with the idea after searching for lampshades whilst updating her daughter’s bedroom and finding that most lampshades were quite plain and mass produced. Sue and Sam love each and every one of the lampshades that they make. They source fabric that is unusual and sometimes add trimmings or coloured liners to enhance the look of the finished shade. The business is truly a cottage industry run from a room in Sue’s home where the lampshades are made.

SHOP STROUD are delighted to offer these fabulous lampshades that are made using the quirky and singular material sought out by Orange Frog Boutique.

Introducing Calico & Corn and their homemade gifts!

Claire creates the most wonderful masks and gift ideas.

Claire was taught how to use a sewing machine by her grandmother and to knit by her godmother when she was a child.
Skills which helped her get through a low point a few years ago.

‘Repurposing textiles destined for landfill and ensuring I chose organic and sustainable materials such as bamboo & h**p assures my customers that I have made every possible attempt to retain our beautiful world 🌎 and reduce needless waste.
I started by making lavender sleep and warming pouches ( using dried handpicked English lavender from my grandmas & mine gardens ) and reusable face wipes from here I started to get orders for pamper packs for teenagers and adults , I added neals yard essential oil products to these to make them specific to each person - e.g travel , sleep , study , relax etc .
Then , during the start of the pandemic I started to make reusable masks using predominantly repurposed vintage materials .
I still try to use repurposed materials , if I can’t I hand pick cotton , organic , jersey or quilting fabrics which are unique and super soft and stretchy 😊
I enjoy working with a customer to find a colour palette and print which they are proud to wear a calico & corn mask’ Claire
