🎍Acorn toppers 🌸 Read on for a brilliant gardening tip from our very own expert - our Joint MD Mark Wash.

“The rain in May followed by bursts of sunshine this month has seen a surge of growth in my flower borders. So, one job I’ve been working on in the garden this weekend is tying up perennial plants to support them.

Many perennials carry a huge amount of extra weight as they come into flower so I prefer to do this before they grow too tall and flop over, if you leave it too late it is a much more difficult task and you risk damaging flowers and neighbouring plants.

Sometimes a single cane is enough (with a loop of garden twine) but larger clumps are better supported with a ring of canes around the clump and twine from cane to cane.

But a word of warning… As you bend down, it can be so easy to injure yourself on the end of a cane! So I’ve been using our new Acorn Cane Toppers which look great in the garden whilst protecting your eyes from the sharp end of bamboo canes. Just push them on the end of each cane. They fit canes from 7mm to 13mm diameter and are made from sustainable long-lasting Mango Wood in varying shades.”
