I’ve known FIDEL CUTSTRO for a few years now… we first met at a Stroud & Gloucester Vinyl Connection Open Turntables jam at The Prince Albert , Stroud Stroud around 10 years ago!

Since then, we’ve had a couple scratch sessions in his home studio - plus he’s spun some records for me at my WAX events at venues & on Twitch DJ streams!

He’s a very talented DJ & Producer - plus has records for days!!!

He dropped an album “Talking In Drums” on his own label: Sound The Alarm back in 2020 - available digitally and on limited cassette - which I’ve spun tracks from on my radio show & Twitch streams!

Though what I’ve really been waiting for - is some of his music on wax!

Tremors in Copper, the debut full-length album from producer, composer and sound designer Jackson Almond.

Born in Liverpool and formerly based in London, Almond has built a catalogue of releases with Warner, BBE, Slowfoot, WotNot Music, XVI Records, Audio Doughnuts and Sounds of Sumo.

His Open Your Head EP got a 9/10 review from DJ Mag, who described it as stunningly original, while Bandcamp praised his knack for balancing hooks and earworms with original ideas and creative production. His work has been supported by BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, NTS, Worldwide FM and Balamii.

He stepped away from releasing music in 2019, relocating from London to the Gloucestershire countryside. Rather than chasing clout or momentum, he disappeared into the studio. Tremors in Copper is the result of that decision.

Drawing together UK club music, folk traditions and contemporary composition, the album refuses easy categorisation. Hardware synthesis, tape processes, field recordings, guitars, clarinets, intricate tuned percussion and string arrangements processed through vintage digital effects create a world that feels simultaneously intimate and expansive. Echoes of trip-hop, broken beat, UK garage, house, IDM and ambient music surface throughout, but always in service of a singular musical voice rather than genre.

The result is an album that is as compelling on a powerful sound system as it is through headphones: rhythmic and physical one moment, reflective and cinematic the next, exploring memory, connection and the traces people leave in one another.

The release also marks Almond's return to live performance for the first time in over a decade. Alongside hardware-based electronic sets, selected performances will feature a bespoke electroacoustic installation of handmade resonant copper instruments performed with analogue synthesisers, tape machines and drum machines. Each performance is shaped specifically for its environment, from immersive listening experiences to dancefloor-focused shows.

Based in Stroud, UK and for listeners of: Clark, Joy Orbison, Overmono, Four Tet, Bonobo, Boards of Canada, Leon Vynehall and Aphex Twin.

💔 It really saddens us to have to make a post like this…

Today, one of our staff members was the victim of someone deliberately scamming and stealing a box of cakes from our shop.

To some people, it may seem like “just a box of cakes,” but to us it’s so much more than that.

It’s the upset and distress caused to a member of our team, who already struggles with confidence and anxiety. It’s the feeling of being taken advantage of while simply trying to do their job. And it’s the reality that this isn’t stealing from a large company—it’s stealing from a small, independent family business that works incredibly hard every day.

Every cake we make takes time, care and money. Incidents like this don’t just have a financial impact; they affect the people behind the business too.

To all of our wonderful customers who continue to support us, thank you. Your kindness, loyalty and encouragement mean more than you’ll ever know. ❤️
