Sustainability is about reducing, reusing, and recycling. Some of you may have heard about these three R's at some point.

By following the three R's, waste can be prevented and natural resources can be conserved.

Let’s break these down:

🔸Reduce: to use fewer resources in the first place. Reducing the use of new resources minimizes the need to manufacture, transport, and dispose of products.

🔸Reuse: Use materials more than once in their original form instead of throwing them away after each use. It prevents new resources from becoming waste, and it prevents old resources from entering the waste stream.

🔸Recycle: Making new products from waste materials through physical and chemical processes. In spite of recycling consuming energy, it helps to reduce the amount of new resources being used and the amount of waste entering the environment.

If we can keep these in mind when thinking about our consumer habits and our general way of life, this could be a great step towards living a bit more sustainably ♻️
