Happy 14 Years Old Barn …
Back in May Of 2012 I got the keys to my unexpected & Unplanned project. I was still at uni, finishing up my Art History degree. A month on in June Of 2012, I opened the doors of then a very bare spacious Mill Barn… a few months in I had a short hospital trip with an erupted appendix, then came along our mascot Miranda who still stands at the door today looking out for us. In the September I graduated and returned home to grow and fill the barn with all the junk. . . …
14 years on today, Mill Barn has seen many an interesting customer, ups, downs, Covid, unpredictable weather, welcoming my little boss helper, getting married and juggling all that life throws our way…
Mill Barn never would have come about or survived without the original junk Mann my Dad and Mum for whom I am very grateful for.
Originally I ran the barn open 6 days a week until 6pm, Madness 🤣 Today the barn may only be open one day a week on a Saturday whilst I also juggle opening the Halstead shop which has been open as long as I have been on the earth. But somehow it still all works and I am thankful to my loyal customers long standing and new who see beyond the chaos and mess 🤣
So Happy 14 years Mill Barn, thank you for the journey and here’s to a few more years 🥂
