Over the past few months the guitar class has lost a number of students for various reasons, some known some not. The group has five places open so, if you live in the Sunderland area and can get to Castletown Methodist Church on Monday evening, 6pm to 7.30pm. come along and see us. For more details regards the class drop me a message and I'll reply as soon as I can.

Every now and again I find a bit of kit that properly blows my mind, the latest being a box three and a half inches long by an inch and a half wide. Borrowed from a band mate from Words Of Another I plugged it in, downloaded the app onto my iPad, connected the two via Bluetooth and started to work my way through some of the pre-set patches. Ye Gods, what a sound. Using the app is so easy to tailor the sound to get it to where you want. This thing is insane, it's the same size as one of the foot-switches on my Boss me-80 pedal. So, what the hell is it some are wondering. Go check out the youtube videos for the Valeton GP-5. If you are a gigging guitarist with limited space to carry gear then this might solve your effects rig problem. Valeton have a number of GP pedals, the GP-5 being the smallest and cheapest of the range, as I said, well impressed and I'm seriously thinking of sticking the GP-50 model onto my ebay watchlist for later.

I think word must be getting around...
Stood at the bus stop on the way to town when a gentleman passed, said "alright" then as he got to the curb, turned, walked back and said " do you know anyone selling a cheap twelve string?"

I've seen him around but to my knowledge I can't recall ever talking to him about guitars before.

Sent a couple of emails off to one of the venues I'm hoping to start a new guitar class at. About a week has gone by and still no response. Have decided to, weather permitting, go and drop in personally and see whether they actually received my request to book the room for two weeks time. Fingers crossed this comes off and a new group of students can start learning to play.

Due to the bad weather at the moment I have decided to cancel the guitar class tonight.

Yesterdays meet and greet session was a bit of a quiet one, the upshot being there isn't going to be a new class starting at St. Cuthberts this year, will give it another go mid 2026. However, those who did attend are very keen so Adam, Billy and Paul will be joining my Monday class.
