Eden Training Academy is excited to offer a FREE 2-week Driving Theory Prep Course in Sunderland. This course is designed to boost your confidence, help you pass your theory test, and improve your Maths and English Functional Skills.

Today is a day we are broken hearted x

Our wonderful volunteer Ian was diagnosed with cancer back in December 2022.

Absolute asset in the kitchen, loved by everyone and SAFC mad!

He loved being part of our world, never missed a shift, until the pains he endured prior to his diagnosis meant he struggled to stand for long periods.

He has battled his way through treatment but sadly he passed in early hours of this morning.

Our Team have been visiting him, his lovely sister Diane and friend Angela have been incredible, his beloved dog Cassie by his side.

St. Cuthbert’s Hospice in Durham is a very special place. The staff are wonderful people and until he headed home when his pain relief was in control, his care was very professional and super friendly staff.

Sunderland A.F.C. bonkers, tattooed in skin his love for our club, very knowledgeable and loved when Lee Johnson and SAFC came to our kitchen.

May we thank Kevin Ball for quietly popping to visit Ian in the hospice, he was blown away by Kevin’s surprise visit, his lovely face when we visited as he described the time spent with Kevin….joy while in so much pain.

He battled to build his strength, he asked to go to first match this season which was arranged with special access and seats removed to accommodate his visit. SAFC and his co-volunteer Keith Jenkins arranged without hesitation.
We have now lost 3 very special people in our soup kitchen journey, we will hold Ian in our hearts and take them all every step of our journey.

No more pain x

Heavy hearts today…we will miss you Big Fella x
