Guerilla GT-X 13ft 9" Rod @ £109 - BACK IN STOCK! Featuring a glass tip, the GT-X is a fantastic rod when you want to fish with increased sensitivity, it will register feint bites at distance with ease. It also helps with casting, all but eliminating “bite back” when power casting. The two-piece blank features a 24mm slim butt section with a 1k weave and high quality shrink tube for comfort and strength, plus strengthening metal collars on the spigot. The tip section has been reinforced with carbon tape and comes with a white tip for better bite recognition. Each rod section has EVA take apart grips. It’s rung with premium K guides and comes with a sliding reel seat, designed for multiplier reels with foam collars. The rod is a smooth casting, easy to use rod ideal for general shore fishing. A few thornback rays have been taken in our area with Horden Beach, the Chemical Beach, Seaham North Pier and Roker Pier...

A few thornback rays have been taken in our area with Horden Beach, the Chemical Beach, Seaham North Pier and Roker Pier all giving up rays up to 6lb. In the past they were also to be found at Hendon Prom - I wonder what other marks will produce them if we try?
Seaham North Pier has seen po***ck, dabs, pouting and a few dogfish and even the odd sole. There have been a number of sandeels showing with plenty of sightings of birds feeding on them, so hopefully in the next few weeks we may see the start of the mackerel.
Roker Pier has seen small coalfish and po***ck, good numbers of dabs and a few codling up to 2lb from the heavy ground around the barrier. It's always worth a try float fishing over the foundations of the pier at this time of year - it sometimes picks out the better fish.
The rock marks at Whitburn and Marsden have been quiet with just the odd codling up to 2lb.
Boat anglers are starting to take some good fish off the wrecks, with double figure ling and po***ck, codling up to 8lb and those boats fishing well off have taken a few mackerel.
Pictured is a double figure ling taken on Kelsey Leigh. Also pictured is 11 year old Jacob Hossack with a nice flounder he took from Hebburn Marina, securing him second place in the Sunderland SAC competition. Well done young man!
