There are times when consumer law is totally against small businesses, even when they are not at fault!

A customer buys a tiller pin from our website, order fulfilled, etc., etc. Two weeks later, a request to return the item as it was purchased as a present, but by mistake, as after the event it was discovered that the person for whom it was supposedly a gift for already had one, so did not want/need the present.

Request to return it, agreed but advised them of the restocking charge due to the tiller pin being undamaged but unwanted. After an email exchange containing lots of quotes from the Consumer Rights Act, we now have to accept the item back and give a full refund, including the outbound shipping and packing costs.

So, we sell a tiller pin in good faith, only to have it returned unwanted, not damaged or unusable, ordered by mistake and unwanted. Ok, no problem, but we have to lose the shipping and packing costs involved with sending it!

How is that fair? Nothing wrong with the goods, a mistake by the customer, but we, the small business, has to pay for that mistake and consequently make a loss!

Sometimes I hate customers!

I am pleased to announce that the rebuilt Draco Crafts website is now live.

dracocrafts.co.uk
dracocrafts.com

Built on the latest ZenCart ecommerce platform with more robust security. The cyber attack on our host last December caused our database to crash, but no customer data was compromised.

The new site only features currently in stock items, I am in the process of building an Fb page which will show previous now out of stock tiller pins, in order that customers can see what is possible and what we may be able to source and convert.

Owing to a cyber attack our website database has been corrupted, so to protect customer information we have taken the site down.

If you wish to enquire about a Tiller Pin please email us on [email protected] or ring/text/WhatsApp Michael on 07805 602618

Lost his mother, little orphan❤️

When firefighters pulled a tiny bear cub from a burning forest, he was shaking from fear and covered in soot. But the second he felt safe, something beautiful happened...

He wrapped himself around the rescuer carrying him. Even after the flames were far behind them, he held on tight, refusing to let go because safety finally felt real. Rescuers say the little cub stayed pressed against the arms that saved him, breathing slowly as the danger faded.

That simple hug showed how deeply animals can feel comfort when kindness reaches them in their weakest moment. For the cub, this was more than survival... it was the first time he felt calm after pure fear. His tiny grip said everything his voice could not.

Wildlife teams later stepped in to give him warmth, food and gentle care. They watched him relax little by little as trust replaced fear. This moment reminds people that acts of courage can create unexpected bonds... and that even wild animals can sense compassion the moment it appears. What part of his rescue touched your heart the most? 💛
