Cat & Kitten Homing Day

26/09/2026

CAT HOMING DAY – SUNDAY 4th OCTOBER
Swansea Cat Clinic Veterinary
11am – 3pm
Come along and meet your new best friend.
Our Homing Day is a great opportunity to meet a wide range of rescue cats and kittens who are ready to find their forever homes.
We are still homing as usual in the run‑up to the event. You do not need to wait until the Homing Day to adopt a cat or kitten. As cats leave for their new homes over the coming weeks, we will continue to “restock the shelves” and bring more vulnerable cats into our care.
You can request a Home Visit before the Homing Day, so that you are ready to adopt on the day and you will be first in line when your perfect feline friend chooses you.
Please note that we cannot reserve a specific cat before the day, but you are very welcome to adopt before the event as normal.
Important: We do not home cats or kittens to properties where they would have access to what we believe is a busy road.
If you rent your home we will need written permission from your landlord.
We do not currently have any indoor cats or kittens

Please debate nicely. No handbags at dawn in St Helen's. 😂👜 Please put your claws away 🐾

CHARITY SHOP QUESTION

SHOULD CHARITY SHOPS CHARGE eBay PRICES? 👀🔥

Imagine someone generously donates an item to a charity shop for free.

A volunteer looks it up online and discovers the same item is selling on eBay for £40.

So what should the charity shop do? 🤔

🅰️ Price it at £40 — why shouldn't the charity get its true value?

🅱️ Price it at £20–£25 — raise good money but still give the customer a bargain.

🅲 Stick a fiver on it! Charity shops should ALWAYS be cheap.

🅳 Don't look things up online at all — just price everything reasonably and let somebody find a bargain.

🔥 HERE'S WHERE IT GETS CONTROVERSIAL…

Some people say:

💬 “Charity shops get their stock for FREE, so their prices should be cheap!”

But others say:

💬 “Yes, it was donated for free — because the donor wanted the CHARITY to benefit from it!”

👀🍿

And then there's another argument…

If a charity shop sells a £50 collectable for £3 and someone immediately puts it on eBay for £50…

Who should have benefited from that extra £47 — the reseller or the charity? 🐱🤔

BUT… if charity shops price everything at full online value, do they risk losing what makes charity shopping so much fun — finding an absolute bargain?

Ooooh, it's a tricky one! 😂

So come on, Swansea…

👇 A, B, C or D?

And tell us WHY!

We genuinely want to know what people think — whether you're a charity-shop regular, bargain hunter, reseller, donor, volunteer or someone who just loves a good rummage! 😹

This is Baby Boots and he can't find his brothers, sister or Mum 💔💔
This weekend some strangers came into the foster room and took them all one by one, leaving him all on his own.
'It's OK little Baby Boots, they have all been adopted and have gone to their new forever homes. Your time will come too little man' ❤️

💎🍇 Calling all crystal collectors! 🍇💎

We have something rather special waiting for you at our St Helen’s Road Charity Shop — these gorgeous Jade and Amethyst crystal grape clusters. 💚💜 They’re wonderfully unusual statement pieces and would look beautiful displayed in any home or crystal collection.

💚 JADE
In crystal traditions, Jade is associated with luck, abundance and prosperity. It’s also connected with the Heart Chakra, symbolising love, compassion and emotional harmony, and is often regarded as a stone of growth, renewal and inner stability.

💜 AMETHYST
Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and relaxation, and is believed to offer protection from negative energy. Its connection with the third-eye and crown chakras also makes it popular with those seeking intuition, clarity and spiritual growth.

✨ Whether you’re drawn to their traditional meanings or simply think they’re stunning, these really are beautiful pieces.

📍 Available at St Helen’s Road Charity Shop
🐾 And remember, every penny raised helps us care for our rescue cats. ❤️
