This Sunday, Swansea walks for fair trade with Palestine 🇵🇸

Join the five-mile walk along Swansea Bay, from The Environment Centre to Tŷ Filasteen, linking two local Zaytoun stockists.

Zaytoun works with over 2,500 family farms across 50 Palestinian villages. Under illegal occupation, access to land, movement and markets can never be taken for granted.

We are proud to stock beautiful Palestinian produce from Zaytoun at Tŷ Filasteen. Come and discover the range. Every purchase helps keep trade with Palestine moving and supports people’s livelihoods.

Palestinians are being forced to survive what the world has learned to watch.

A red line without consequence is not a limit.

It is permission.

Sliman Mansour painted a Palestine that could not be erased.

In the Palestine he painted, Jerusalem was carried close to the body. Olive trees rooted themselves across the hills. Harvest rested in Palestinian women’s hands. Village histories were stitched into dresses. And children imagined freedom beyond fences.

His work has been part of Tŷ Falasteen since before our doors opened. Not decoration, but a way of speaking Palestine when words were not enough.

Every day, people pause before it.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family.

May his memory remain rooted in the Palestine he painted. الله يرحمه ويصبّر أهله ومحبيه

The current August 2026 issue of This Week in Palestine is filled with stories of young Palestinians who refuse to be reduced to victims, statistics, or a convenient language of “resilience.” They are students trying to recover an education under bombardment, artists protecting imagination from erasure, musicians crossing checkpoints to create, young organizers rebuilding political community across fragmentation, entrepreneurs building in an economy under siege, and humanitarian volunteers serving their people while still being denied a seat at the table.

However, Palestinian youth are not waiting for permission to lead. They are already shaping Palestine’s future.

I’m proud to announce that the August 2026 issue of This Week in Palestine, themed “Youth Rising: Empowering the Next Generation,” is now accessible online at www.thisweekinpalestine.com. I wholeheartedly thank our Bank of Palestine and Intersect who jointly acquired the Bronze Sponsorship. I also thank every single author and institution for engaging in this uplifting issue, especially the institutions who chose This Week in Palestine as a promotional tool.

There’s something deeply special about finally unpacking these pieces.

Handblown glass from Hebron, Palestine, where glassmaking has been practised for generations. Each piece is made by hand, so no two are ever quite the same.

Seeing all this glass finally here, after its journey from Hebron to Mumbles, feels particularly moving. At a time when Palestinians are enduring so much, the continuation of Palestinian craft, work and creativity feels all the more precious.

The colours, the irregularities, the weight of them. You can see the human hand in every piece.

Palestinian craft, skill and heritage.

And they really are very, very beautiful.

Mumbles, you don’t know how lucky you are.
