Milkwood Books

📚📚📚📚✨❤️❤️❤️❤️

A second-hand book business is opening in Swansea Market this month 📚

📖 Milkwood Books has built its following through markets, festivals and events, offering second-hand, rare and collectible titles, along with a strong focus on Welsh-interest books and a constantly rotating mix of unusual finds. You may have spotted them at the likes of Mumbles Market and Uplands Market.

🖋️ The name is a nod to Swansea's own literary heritage, taking inspiration from Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood.

🔨 Fit-out is already underway at the new Swansea Market unit, with shelving going in this week ahead of an opening expected later this month - exact date still to be confirmed.

🎪 The shop marks a new permanent base for the business, though Milkwood Books will keep appearing at selected markets and festivals too.

Something rather exciting is taking shape…📚

After travelling around markets, festivals and events, Milkwood Books is getting a permanent home in !! This is the space before the transformation — and the shelves are going in today!

There’s plenty to do between now and opening, but it’s a pretty exciting feeling to finally have a place to call home 🏡📚🧡

Opening date to be announced very soon… 🙏✨

Home after a wonderful week at Green Gathering 🌿📚

What an experience. So many thoughtful conversations, new friendships, and books finding their way to exactly the right people.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to browse, chat, or simply take a moment out of the festival. You made us feel incredibly welcome. We even had a gentleman who stopped by and sang us a song about Dylan Thomas and Caitlin! Completely unexpected, wonderfully heartfelt, and exactly the sort of thing that makes Green Gathering so special.

Until next time 💚📖

Next stop: Green Gathering 🌿📚💚

Really looking forward to bringing the mobile bookshop to a festival for the first time this week. Especially meaningful that our very first one celebrates community, creativity and the environment. We’ve been choosing a wonderful mix of books to bring along, and we can’t wait to meet fellow book lovers over the weekend. If you’re heading to the festival, do come and say hello ✨🌞

Always a treat to be back Uplands Market where it all began. We had live spoken word from local poets next door, sunshine, a sprinkling of local legends, and …of course plenty of good books 📚🙌. Until next time…✨
