🐝🏡 The bees have arrived in their new home! 🌿💛

What a weekend! We packed up our colonies and made the journey from Essex to their new location here in Norfolk.

It’s a big move for us — and for the bees! — but they’ve settled in beautifully and are already busy exploring their new surroundings. 🌻🐝

After all the planning, lifting, travelling (and a few crossed fingers!), it was rather special to stand back and watch them flying in their new home.

Here’s a little glimpse of our Norfolk bees settling in. 💛

The “BER” months have arrived… September, October, November, December!

And while we’re not quite ready to put the Christmas tree up just yet, it’s definitely not too early to start thinking about those special gifts.

We’ve been busy at Ivy Cottage Bees by the Sea and have some lovely new products joining our shop, alongside our range of local honey, beeswax candles, soaps, wax melts and other bee-inspired treats.

🐝 TEAM BUILDING WITH A BUZZ…

We’ve spent this week showing you that Ivy Cottage Bees isn’t just about candles and lovely things to make — we can bring the fascinating world of bees to all sorts of groups.

And now we’re taking it into the workplace…

This week we’re heading to SAS in Marlow to give employees a fascinating introduction to the world of the honeybee — before getting suited up and opening the hives so they can see a colony at work for themselves. 🐝

And actually, there’s a brilliant connection between a honeybee colony and a big organisation.

Thousands of individuals. Different roles. Incredible communication. Constant problem-solving. Everyone working towards the success of the whole colony.

School visits & educational talks
We offer fun, engaging and curriculum-linked sessions for primary schools, bringing the fascinating world of honeybees, pollinators, habitats and the environment to life.

Home education sessions
Learning doesn’t have to happen in a classroom! Our home education sessions can include apiary visits, beeswax crafts and curriculum-linked learning covering subjects such as pollination, habitats, food chains, seasonal changes and sustainability.

SEND & sensory-friendly learning
Our calm, hands-on approach can work particularly well for children who prefer a more relaxed, sensory-friendly and low-pressure environment, with activities adapted to different ages, abilities and learning styles.

Wellbeing & mental health sessions
There’s something incredibly calming about spending time in nature. We offer bee-led, nature-based wellbeing experiences for charities and community organisations, providing an opportunity to slow down, connect with nature and enjoy the fascinating world of bees.
