π Mental Health π
Do you have a worrier? A child with anxiety? Emotional and angry outbursts?
Not a day goes past when we don't talk or hear about mental health. Our own, our children's, loved ones... mental health changes, mental health in schools, the work place... the list is endless, and so it should be.
I am a huge advocate for supporting our mental but also for nurturing mental health in children from a young age. Forget the stigma and shame long associated with it. We should be bringing up our children to look after their mental health as we would teach them to brush their teeth and wrap up warm so they don't catch a cold.
It has taken a global pandemic to shift things into gear but changes are coming, with mental health practitioners being trained to work in our schools and it being acknowledged that 1 in 6 children aged 5 to 16 were identified as having a probable mental health problem in July 2020 alone.
As a Mum it is my BIGGEST concern, and I would hands down want to protect my child's mental health and emotional wellbeing over anything else. So let's start at home... have those conversations, watch those programmes, learn those coping strategies, READ THOSE BOOKS.
See below for a little selection of some of Usbornes very own mental health books. I am purchasing all of these in tomorrow's order, so let me know ow if you would like one added in.
