We can cut them D cut or full face — pop in and we’ll show you the difference and cut it just how you like it.

Back from a family trip to Spain now, but while I was out there I couldn’t resist popping into a few local butcher shops to see how they do things. Turns out good butchery is good butchery wherever you go!

We visited Mercado Central de Alicante on Monday morning, and I couldn’t resist filming at one of the market’s brilliant butcher stalls. 🇪🇸

Spotted this beautiful Ibérico pork — famous for its free-range life and acorn-rich diet, which gives it that melt-in-the-mouth texture and rich, nutty flavour. Often called the “Wagyu of pork,” and it’s easy to see why.

🇪🇸 Butchery never switches off, even on holiday!

While we’re out in Spain, couldn’t resist popping into Albert Carnicerías in Hondón de las Nieves for a nose around the counter. Staff were dead friendly, even with a bit of a language barrier — a smile and pointing goes a long way! 😄

Picked up some chicken wings, plus some chipolata, cocktail sausages and tiny Toulouse for the kids (well, mainly for Matthew, Oscar and Isobel — they weren’t missing out just ‘cause we’re abroad!). Grabbed some pork spare rib chops too, which we’ll be marinading back at the villa, along with a few chipolata-style sausages.

Always good to support your local butcher, wherever you are in the world 🥩

Normal service resumes next week back in Walton on the Hill — see you then!
