So who am I ???
Kerry-Rose , recently became a Mrs 😜
Moms of 4 boys , now past the age of family allowance 🤫( yes I am actually that old ) and living their best life .
I have worked as a furniture Artists & refinisher for 15 years .
I too started off in my kitchen with 1 tin of paint from Annie Sloan Chalk Paint , a look in my eye and house full of hand me downs . A little nudge from a dear friend with a statement that changed my life, my home and my future . Hopefully others have benefited along the way . I have been very blessed in the industry and extremely grateful for the connections and close friends I have learnt from.
The famous quote as I sat on the floor crying in tears was “ your creative , get off your arse and paint “
So that’s what I did 🙊
I grew from the kitchen to the garage - garage to a booth - booth to a shared unit with friends - unit to a shop -
Now I am slowing down , evolving in different directions .
After 15 years , hundreds of tins of paint & brushes , I’ve lost count of how many pieces of furniture I have painted for friends , family , bespoke clients & creatively sales pieces, there’s a little bit of me scattered in homes across the UK.
My heart is teaching others and empowering creative skills, it’s never been about going viral , winning awards or slave to brands . Which would also be very nice 😆
My fundamental values have been and always will be sharing & teaching others to empower their homes with a little creativity, money saving tips and recommendations of some of the best products on the market .
That’s how simple it was , no gimmicks , no luck , just hard graft juggling kids as a single mom whilst managing a full time job .
If I have any advice for new starters in industry it would be - please do not measure your beginning by another’s middle or ending. It’s your journey and you need to travel it at your own speed . 💕
Oh and that piece you just watched , one of my favourite pieces . I kind of have a girly crush for florals and chippy furniture. Hope you love it …. 🥰
