Thought I would dip my head back into the digital world and check in with my social media family.

How are we all doing ? Have you survived the first half of 2026 ?? I haven’t 😬
I notice it’s a bit rough out in the world 😢
I have been kept busy working away on my last 2 pieces of Painted Furniture commission work for clients in May and while enjoying the process of painting , I have become a recluse 😩🤔

Maybe I have enjoyed the hermit life to much these past months, So …….. I have decided to close the diary for the rest of the year and truly take a break.
Juggling Hospital appointments, College , online sales , commissions, College , closing the shop has all pretty much worn me out. The pressure to show up needs to stop ✋
Thankyou for all the love & Support over the last few years .

It’s not a goodbye but a see you again soon !!

Hello Everyone!!
Well that was a lovely rest from social media for lent, It’s been liberating!!
How is everyone doing ?
What’s been going on in the world ?
I’ve had my head in my School books , reading novels and Painting away at home for clients while spending time with my New hubby . ❤️
Here’s one piece that I refinished few weeks back for a client who is refurbishing her hall way. ( she is having a new carpet ) 😉 when you see final result photo.

I painted it in good old Midnight blue from Fusion mineral paint courtesy of my wonderful friend Tracey from Tracey McKay Designs who is a stockist of Fusion over in Ireland.

Any hoo - hope everyone is well and life is treating you all grand .

What’s your favourite Colour wax in the tool kit ??

I have to say of all the detail wax I have tried in my years as a pro furniture up-cycler I do get in a panic without my dark wax.

It pops a piece in all the right places!!

In my wildest dreams growing up in the 80’s as a Tomgirl did I think I would be painting florals with gold trims.

But here we are - looking for the prettiest florals, the sparkly gold and adding it to furniture.

My younger self would be so ashamed 😆

And I heard it was coming back in 2026, florals galore in interior design and I cannot wait .

Where’s my Gen X tomgirls ??

There’s always a journey & story behind every up-cycled piece of furniture 💕

People are to quick to judge furniture painters online , I have been lucky as I do not get much grief from the folk that hate painted furniture and if I do I just delete their comments , block and get on with my day.

It’s good to remember that every piece has a story both for the client , buyer and painter . Often it’s therapy , sentimental or gifts for others.

What ever the reason is behind the upcycle, we are keeping landfill from filling up and they can always be stripped back to original state and continue their life as useful furniture.
Pretty lucky really that I have the opportunity to be creative and earn a living from it 💕
