Unfortunately for the new owner of this beautiful Ducati V4R, a post purchase service and thorough check over ahead of a No Limits endurance round uncovered something far from ideal…

What we found in the oil speaks for itself! 😬

Thankfully, the customer has taken the wise route and sourced a good, low mileage replacement engine. We’ll strip this engine down over the winter to investigate exactly what’s happened and get to the bottom of it.

We try not to think too much about what could have happened had this check over not been carried out… 😳

Another reminder of why a proper inspection before putting a newly purchased bike straight into competition is so important.

A stunning Ducati V4 R through the workshop this week for a clutch replacement.

The bike arrived showing the classic signs of clutch slip, so it was stripped, inspected and rebuilt using genuine Ducati components. As with every job, everything was measured, checked and reassembled to the factory specification.

Less than 24 hours later, it was back with its owner and ready to be enjoyed once again.

It's always a pleasure to work on machines of this calibre.

This stunning Yamaha R1, belonging to a great customer and friend of ours, has just left the workshop.

While it was with us, the engine was removed and rebuilt to our Trackday/Club Race specification, along with a few choice upgrades, including a Nova Racing close-ratio gearbox.

We also installed an SBK-spec selector drum. One of the biggest benefits is the race shift pattern with neutral positioned below first gear (N-1-2-3-4-5-6). If you look closely, you can spot the neutral gate lever neatly mounted at the front of the tank.

The suspension received some attention too. We extended the Öhlins FGR219 forks by 10mm and adjusted the rear shock length to achieve the geometry the R1 really responds to.

Finally, the bike was custom mapped on a variable airbox pressure dyno, allowing us to achieve fueling that's as close to perfect as possible in a dyno environment.

We can't wait to hear what the owner thinks once it's out on track. 👌🏁

If your gearbox is starting to miss shifts or doesn't feel as positive as it should, there's a good chance it looks something like this... 👀

This Yamaha R9 Supersport engine came in with gearbox issues. After stripping it down, the cause was easy to spot.

A few new gears, a selector fork, and some gaskets later, it was rebuilt and back with the customer the very next day. 🔧⚡
