📢 Important Notice – Coliseum Cards
Due to a planned protest in Tamworth Town Centre tomorrow, Saturday 12th September, we have made the difficult decision to close Coliseum Cards for the day. All scheduled events for tomorrow are also cancelled.
The procession is expected to travel down Victoria Road, past our store, with significant numbers of people attending. There will be numerous road closures and disruption throughout the local area, as well as counter-protests.
After careful consideration, and taking on board the information provided to us by Staffordshire Police and the Tamworth Community Safety Partnership, we feel this is the most responsible decision for the safety of our customers, players and ourselves.
We know this will be disappointing for our players, especially those who have been looking forward to tomorrow’s events. We also appreciate the inconvenience this may cause and apologise for the short notice.
As a small business, Saturday is one of our busiest trading days, so this is an extremely difficult decision for us. We have worked hard to build our community, and missing a full day of trading and our scheduled events is a significant loss.

Officers will be deployed in Tamworth tomorrow (Saturday, 12 September 2026) at a pre-planned protest in the area.
We will work to balance the rights of the protestors against the rights of those affected by it, which includes minimising the impact of disruption to local businesses, the community and the road network.
We recognise that events of this nature can cause concern for people and businesses. We’re working closely with Tamworth Borough Council and partner agencies to maintain public safety and minimise disruption wherever possible.
A designated area under Section 158 of the Crime and Policing Act 2026 in relation to face coverings will be in place tomorrow. It will start at 8am and will end at 6pm on Saturday (12 September 2026).
Within this area (pictured), it will be an offence under s157 of the Crime and Policing Act 2026 for anyone to conceal their identity for the purpose of avoiding identification. Exemptions apply for religious, health and work-related face coverings. Anyone who conceals their identity will commit an offence under section 157 of the Crime and Policing Act 2026 and may be and liable to arrest.
The main arterial routes inside the area include the A454 Riverdrive, Ankerdrive, Saxondrive, Fazeley Road, the A51, Offadrive, the B5493 and Tamedrive.
Our priority is public safety. The right to protest peacefully in a democracy is important but it is also important there are consequences for those who break the law.
Appropriate policing and stewarding arrangements are being developed to support the safe management of the event.
