My Watermelon Wishes

Hi my name is Laura and I’ve just started making memory items. Send me your clothes, hats, socks, blankets etc and I will turn them into memory items for you.

I have decades of sewing experience and I’m happy to take on many different commissions so please drop me a message to discuss your idea. Before posting them to me I will advise you on how many items approximately you will need to send. I will keep you updated with photos if you want or if you would rather a surprise let me know. All prices include return postage once your item(s) have been completed. You will need to pay postage to send the clothing to me. Any cut up clothes that are no fully used in your memory item will not be returned and I reserve the right to use them for other projects / scrap material unless you request they are returned to you. Any items that are not used in your memory item will be returned to you along with your order. I will send orders out via courier and I take no responsibility for items lost in transit. I will confirm your address and advise you when I’m sending your order out to ensure you will be expecting your order. I do not offer refunds or cancellations once the order has been started due to the items being made to order. If you wish to cancel your order you must do so before I start the order.

Help us decide between the middle two (we’ve decided the top and bottom are definitely out) most of the family want the third one down (option 2) but we all like the second one down (option 1) and can’t decide. I’ve included a picture of the display kitchen we have chosen so you can see the colours we are working with.

My last order of the year is now with its new owner ❤️ I’ve not even started wrapping my Christmas presents but my girls have seen my empty sewing machine and asked if I could make them a cushion each 😂 hmm to prioritise things here!

I’m so nearly finished with this lovely order by my bobbin has just run out so I’m using that as my sign to stop for the night! This will be finished tomorrow ready to be sent off before Christmas ❤️

This blanket is the biggest one I’ve made and I’m absolutely in love with it ❤️ this afternoon it went to its forever home and I’ve just received the nicest message - ‘My blanket is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much. Sat looking at all the memories on it and having a little cry. Thank you so much. Its wonderful ###x’

For anyone who has old clothes they can’t bare to part with and want something special made out of them drop me a message ❤️ I’ve got a couple of cushions to make before Christmas but I’ve got plenty of availability for the new year.

As well as sewing I’ve started to make snow globe cups as well as resin items. I’ve got five cups available and can do any colour glitter. These will be £15 including postage ❤️

Tonight I have been finishing off all the final touches for this beautiful blanket ready to back it tomorrow and then my largest order will be finished and ready to go off to its new home. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little emotional about this blanket, there’s so many memories included in this one as it’s such a large blanket, I hope my lovely customer will think it’s worth the wait. ❤️

Tonight my daughter couldn’t sleep so came to watch me sew because she’s fascinated by it. When I told her she needed to go and try to sleep again she left her teddies to watch me and made me a cup of tea before heading back to bed ❤️ such a handy little apprentice 🥰

I’ve been working on a fab blanket every day this week, each day my machine strips and comes unthreaded and I’ve snapped a couple of needles this week on some of the thicker material but I am absolutely loving seeing the progress each day. I can’t wait until it’s finished and I can share some more pictures ❤️ (black and white so as not to spoil the excitement for my customer of seeing the finished piece).

My sister bought me these amazing plant pots for my birthday which my youngest is obsessed with. She was playing ‘weddings’ earlier and making the llamas get married, as I’m still at the cutting stage I didn’t move them as I don’t need the space tonight. I’m about to cut this cute little llama sleepsuit and it made me smile because it looks like the bride and groom are watching their friends 🥰
