Over the next week we have a book stall set up for the Ilminster Literary Festival!

The first event today was a brilliant interview with Alan Johnson on his latest book on Harold Wilson. A fascinating start to it all.

We are *so* excited for our upcoming event with Elizabeth-Jane Burnett and Aidan Meighan.

On Thursday 18th June at 7pm they will be in conversation discussing their latest books.

Elizabeth-Jane Burnett brings us Splendour, her first novel, a moving tale of resistance and renewal.

Aidan Meighan brings us The Folklore of Trees, a beautiful book that delves into the myths, legends and secrets of the world's most iconic trees.

It is going to be a fascinating evening. And it is the publication date for Splendour so we get the joy of celebrating that too.

The final event of the Waterstones Children's Book Festival was with the lovely Alexandra Dawe, author of Stitchwort.

She hosted a magical creatures workshop and guided us on how to make the weird and wonderful things in our head come to life on the page.

There was extra joy on our Sunday Gruffalo storytimes at the Waterstones Children's Book Festival.

We had a return visit from the Gruffalo himself and our wonderful friend the lovely Makaton Tutor Jennie.

This is the second time we have had Jennie to the shop and she uses Makaton to make storytimes more accessible. It was great to have her back and see the shop so busy!
