Thanks for putting up with me being closed today (Saturday 26th). Iā€™m showing my Uni friends (from far and wide) the highlights of Taunton!!! One of which is the BEST Pornstar Martinis at The Little W**e Shop, Social W**e Bar!!
The town is buzzing today with the Taunton Together event and itā€™s been lovely to experience as a visitor rather than as a business.

How amazing to be able to sit by the river enjoying an afternoon drink with your best buddies šŸ„°

Sooooo, with 6 days left to go I am amazed and proud that iā€™m able to report that ā€˜Rocket and Birdā€™ has had its best September ever!! (The best in 8 years)And thatā€™s despite the fact that I closed up shop and shut early on a number of occasions so that I could pursue other projects and spend time with familyā€¦.

This month has been one of those classic roller coaster months! The lows of local politics has been draining, consuming and heavy but they are very much part of owning a business in the town centre so cannot be ignored. I imagine there are some people who wish Iā€™d just shushā€¦me included šŸ˜†

The highs this month have been visits from makers, a trip to Weston-super-Mare for the Visit Somerset board meeting, meeting Nicola Bartlett from Eclectic Gift Shop in actual real life! Catching up with Bird Modern Vintage at the brilliant Broadbeat event, completing my Taunton 2027 calendar (back from the printers soon!), working with the brilliant team at BlueTone Festival and being a part of the first BlueTone session at Sheppyā€™s AND of course making it to the finals of the British Independent Retailers Association - Bira ā€œLove your high streets awardsā€ šŸ„³šŸ„³šŸ„³

Itā€™s so important to take a step back and appreciate all the good stuffā€¦especially when it feels like there is so much bad stuff going on!
So here I am, once again bringing you a positive high street story. Thanks to the brilliant creatives who bring so many unique, high quality items to Rocket and Bird, and to YOU, the customers who appreciate and buy those amazing products. Itā€™s only been the best September ever because of those two factors, so thank you šŸ™šŸ»
