One day to go!
Dickensian Evening is nearly here, and the excitement is properly building now. The traffic lights will be off the roads to help everything flow smoothly…now we’re just hoping the rain stays away!
Tomorrow brings one of Tavistock’s favourite nights of the year, and the whole town is getting ready to bring the festive magic to life.
Here’s what’s lined up:
🎶 Mechanical musical wonders
🎭 A lively Dickensian circus twist
🧚♀️ Sugar Plum Fairies dancing overhead
🎩 Magic Martin keeping the fun going
🎄 Lantern Parade kicking things off at 5pm
🎤 School choirs, youth performers, brass bands & more
🚂 Steam engines, street food and classic fairground rides
And the fun spreads right across town:
📍 Bedford Square Stage – welcome & Christmas Lights Switch-On at 5:45pm
📍 Town Centre Streets – entertainment popping up across Upper West St, Russell St, Duke St, Brook St & Lawsons
📍 Car Parks – circus shows, steam engines, Elfic & live performances all evening
It’s a night the whole community loves, and it’s shaping up to be a brilliant start to the festive season.
