Back in the pannier market this Saturday with a whole new selection of books on the Sale tables. Hardbacks by Doreen Tovey and Dorothy Dunnett and books about Devon churches, UK topography, Literature, Music and so much more. 3 books for the price of 2 still applies! Plus we’ve unearthed another basket of 7” singles @ 50p each, 4 for £1!

Not long now until those most desperate of desperadoes from the Borderlands come a-whoopin’ and a-hollerin’ down Plymouth Road, six guns a-blazin’ and hooves a-clatterin’ as they swing into the parish centre to set up for Sunday’s record fair!
Actually… it should be a rather more genteel affair than that. A full hall with circa ten knowledgeable and enthusiastic stallholders offering a wide range of musical genres to suit all budgets. Vinyl, cds, cassette tapes, books. Plus a groovy dj set! And free admission!
We’ll be bringing our usual ‘mixture for a mad dog.’ Been listening to a lot of Jazz lately so will have a good selection of pre-owned vinyl, as well as new, sealed, reissues, cds also. All the usual suspects, Chet Baker, Coltrane, Miles Davis, and some great trios, Bill Evans, Peterson. Cool stuff!
At the other extreme, we’ll be offering tales to make your hair curl from our selection of Heavy Metal biographies.
Then there’s a rare cd selection which will include Rick Wright (from Pink Floyd), Pale Saints - Flesh Balloon cd single, Small Faces - Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake (3 disc edition with mono, stereo & previously unreleased) plus live albums from Hawkwind, Gary Numan, Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Terry Reid, Zappa.
So there you go!
This Sunday, 10 - 3. The sun is going to shine all day and, if you like plants too, it’s the first day of the Tavistock Garden Festival. 👍
