Lee Furneaux Books We have been selling books covering a wide range of subjects in Tavistock Pannier Market on a full-time basis since 1991.

Our bookshop is easily located within the market, occupying one corner at the west end.

It was a pleasure to meet and chat with the gentleman singing in this video, in the pannier market on Saturday. As a Chris Martin lookalike it’s not surprising he was the front man of Ultimate Coldplay who played Tavistock Wharf on Saturday evening.
But we know him better as the Vinyl Vulture whose Youtube channel is dedicated to his record collection and the purchases he makes on his travels in the UK and Europe.
Nice to meet you!
(The channel is recommended viewing for likeminded saddoes like Lee who enjoy looking at other peoples records when not out looking for records themselves! 😆)

Greetings all! Three dates for the September diary, including two this week. Tomorrow we shall be occupying Wood N Tings Friday and Saturday spot whilst they attend the Plymouth Comic con where they’ll be offering an incredible selection of Paul’s Star Wars and Superhero-themed lamps. (Hope you have a great day, Paul and Kim!)
Now it’s incredible to think that it’s been almost two years since we stepped back from full-time trading in the pannier market. Thanks to your continued support we can start to see space and empty shelves appearing in the book room. Please keep up the good work!
If we don’t see you this week, we’re back in on Saturday 12th. As always, lots of fresh stock in all departments. Four crates of mixed genre vinyl, 3 for £10. Cds, books, and remaining dvds, 3 for the price of 2, cheapest item free. Mix and match encouraged. Bargains still to be had! 👍 😃

Hope everyone’s OK and coping well with the blistering heat! We’re back in the market on Saturday with a whole bunch of new stock. We’ve cleared another shelf of local history from the bookroom, added more books to our 3 for 2 tables, unboxed a further selection of rock and jazz cds and pulled from the cubes a few more choice vinyl collectables.
So hope to see you on Saturday, 9.00am - 4.30pm, Tavistock Pannier Market, the ‘cool’ place to be. 🥵

Known as the Stairs of Knowledge, this creative initiative by the Library at the University of Balamand in Lebanon transforms an ordinary staircase into a celebration of literature. Featuring 21 stairs painted with influential works of literature in chronological order, the installation serves as a powerful reminder that knowledge and wisdom are gained through reading. Widely praised for its originality, the stairs offer a wonderful way to welcome new students to the world of literary classics as they embark on their academic journey. Back in the pannier market this Saturday with a whole new selection of books on the Sale tables. Hardbacks by Doreen Tovey and Dorothy Dunnett and books about Devon churches, UK topography, Literature, Music and so much more. 3 books for the price of 2 still applies! Plus we’ve unearthed another basket of 7” singles @ 50p each, 4 for £1!
