Hello June!

June’s birth flower, the rose.
A bloom grown in my cottage garden and used in The Potting Shed, Telford garden style floristry.

Garden roses are a more specialised category of cultivated roses. They’re bred to retain the romantic, natural characteristics of old-fashioned roses. I wish I could grow more!

So all garden roses are cultivated roses — but not all cultivated roses are garden roses.

What a treat it was to visit Walcot Hall Gardens, Lydbury North near Bishop’s Castle this bank holiday.

The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,300 exceptional private gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, and raises impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.

Have to say the refreshments were superb.

There’s something special about working surrounded by nature, with the scent of fresh blooms and the sound of the breeze through the grass. Even with the dramatic clouds overhead, it’s the perfect setting for creativity to flourish. 🌾✨
