So grateful to attend opening night of The Boy who Harnessed the Wind at Stratford last week. Inventor and engineer, William Kamkwamba's epochal story so deserves this musical adaptation. Director Lynette Linton really captures the heart of it. Under her direction every dept from music to choreography to hair and makeup, elevates this epochal story.

Sifiso Mazibuko (picture 2) plays William's Dad alongside Madeline Appiah as Mum -- their duet is sublime and the rest of the cast melds into it beautifully. Helena Pipe (picture 3), keeper of the school library (where the expelled William finds a pivotal text) and Yana Penrose (Khamba puppetry) are among a slew of RSC debuts we're looking forward to seeing more of.

An honour to meet the man himself: William Kamkwamba (1st photo). Feels like he set a new bar for what innovation and real work look like especially when many say "it won't work"😜🎶 It says something about the power of a book, the human spirit and the miraculous that William's work literally saved many lives and continues to throughout Malawi.

What a night! The run is until the end of March and then onto London. Don't miss it.
