Some of this weeks makes.... Apparently I’m incapable of making a dress just once 🩷😂

I make my own pattern, fall in love with it… and then obviously I HAVE to make it in every colour and fabric possible until I get bored and find my next obsession....

New fabrics came in the shop, so naturally they all needed testing… purely for research purposes and I am a walking advert..

Show off your curves. Wear the bright colour. Make it shorter, longer, tighter, floatier whatever makes YOU feel bloody amazing.

Your body doesn’t need to change for the dress.

Make the dress fit YOU. 🩷

Wear it with confidence because life is too short to be anything other than yourself!!

NEW RETREAT A LITTLE ESCAPE TO THE COTSWOLDS… 🩷

18th–20th June 2027

Imagine packing your bag and disappearing for a whole weekend to a stunning house near the Cotswolds…

No rushing around. No cooking. No everyday jobs waiting for you.

Just a beautiful house, a hot tub, gorgeous food, sewing, crochet, cuppas, laughter and a whole weekend to just slow down and enjoy yourself. 🩷

And because you know I can't go somewhere beautiful without turning the journey into part of the adventure…

You could even squeeze in a cheeky little trip to Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Bourton-on-the-Water or beautiful Castle Combe along the way the most picturesque places in the cotswolds, (I've already planned the route for for you)

🧶 Fancy learning to crochet or sew? I'll teach you.

🪡 Want to spend hours sewing without being interrupted? The sewing machines are coming.

☕ Want to sit with a cuppa, chat, eat lovely food or jump in the hot tub and do absolutely nothing for a while? Do it.

There is no pressure.

Every guest will also have their own dedicated 30 minute 1 to1 session with me, so if there's something you'd really love to learn or need a little extra help with, we'll have that time together too. 🩷

Shellys Creations first sewing retreat 2026,🩷

My heart could literally burst I’m not actually sure I have the words for this weekend… but I’m going to try. 🩷

I’ve just spent a whole weekend with 11 absolutely beautiful women.

Some arrived as friends. Some arrived as complete strangers. And somehow, by the end of the weekend, it felt like we’d all known each other for so much longer.

We sewed. We ate beautiful food around the same table. We laughed, shared stories. We talked about life. We had quiet moments, silly moments and some really bloody beautiful ones.

And I just kept looking around thinking how brave and inspiring these women are

Every single one of them has their own life waiting for them at home. Their own responsibilities, their own stories, their own things they’re navigating and yet they chose to take this weekend for themselves.

And they trusted me to give them that little adventure.

That means more to me than I can explain and given me memories that will last a lifetime.

This was my very first retreat and, behind the scenes, I was so nervous. I wanted everything to be perfect. I wanted everyone to feel comfortable, included and looked after. More than anything, I just wanted them to go home feeling like they’d had the best weekend.

But looking around that room and seeing 11 women laughing, creating, talking, eating together and just being completely themselves…

To my 11 ladies thank you for trusting me. Thank you for being brave enough to come, especially those who came without knowing anyone. Thank you for bringing your stories, your laughter, your kindness and your beautiful selves.🩷🥰

I hope you went home with more than the things you made.

I hope you went home with a little piece of you that maybe you’d forgotten was there. 🩷

A little photo dump from the last week or so 🥹🧵🧶🩷

We’ve welcomed new ladies into sewing, new faces at crochet, and the vibe in the shop lately has just been absolutely beautiful, ladies have been finishing projects every day. Seeing everyone sat around chatting, learning, laughing and genuinely smiling makes me so happy 🥹

It still feels like my “new” shop… and then I remember I’ve actually been here EIGHT MONTHS?! 😂 Honestly, the quickest eight months of my life.

But I think it’s finally starting to feel exactly how I always imagined it would warm, welcoming, a little bit chaotic 😂 and full of genuinely lovely women bringing the best energy through the door.

And now we’re heading into my favourite bit… autumn darker evenings, cosy lights, cups of tea, crochet and knitting, sewing away while it’s miserable outside 🧶☕️🩷

I’m so ready for cosy season with you all. 🩷

Thank you for making my little shop such a bloody lovely place to be. 🩷

Just a casual Sunday doing “a few little jobs” in the shop… which obviously turned into absolute CHAOS 😂🛠️🩷

Put the bloody shelves on the wrong way round ✔️
Got hot and bothered and questioned my DIY abilities ✔️
Painted my new custom-made fabric storage box ✔️
Moved approximately 738 things around ✔️
Ended up doing a skip run looking like I’d been through battle ✔️😂

Did I film the finished result? Absolutely not. By that point the shop looked like a bomb had gone off and my brain had officially clocked out for the day 🤣

But this is the bit of running a little business you don’t always see. Sometimes it’s not pretty reels and finished projects… sometimes it’s paint in your hair, wonky shelves, mess EVERYWHERE and figuring it out as you go.

Still… every random little job is another tiny step towards making Shelly’s Creations exactly how I’ve always pictured it. 🥹🩷

Built bit by bit, mistake by mistake… apparently sometimes shelf by shelf TWICE. 😂🔨

I literally started at my kitchen table with one sewing machine, no money behind me and an idea I couldn’t stop thinking about.

That kitchen table became a shed. The shed became a village hall. Then came my first shop… and now my second.

None of it was perfect. It was messy. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing half the time.( Still don't sometimes) I just keep learning, reinvesting, growing and figuring it out as I go.

As a single mum, I won’t pretend building something from nothing is always exciting. Sometimes it’s bloody lonely. The responsibility, the decisions, the bills, the pressure, it all sits with you. But the reward of watching something you once only imagined slowly become real makes those hard days worth it.

So to the woman with an idea sitting in her head waiting for more money, more confidence, someone to do it with or the “right time”…

Start with what you have! Start where you are! Start scared! Start lonely! Start messy! Just START.

Because one day you’ll be 80 and life will be slowing down. Ask yourself, did I do the things I wanted to do, or did I spend my life waiting until I felt ready?

Whatever life throws at you, the frustration, the anger, the setbacks, the hard seasons, use it as fuel. Set your goals, dream ridiculously big and keep showing up for yourself. 🩷 🔥

MY LADIES HAVE GOT GAME. 🔥🧵🧶

Seriously. LOOK AT THE LEVEL OF WORK COMING OUT OF SHELLY’S.

Bags that belong in boutiques.
Crochet cardigans you’d pay a fortune for.
Vintage dresses made from BED SHEETS.
Piped cushions. Garments made from scratch.

Beautiful finishes. Proper techniques. SERIOUS SKILL.

Whether they’ve got a sewing machine in front of them or a crochet hook in their hand these women KNOW their craft!

They take a technique, put their own spin on it and create things nobody else owns.

And THAT is the magic of being able to make.

While everyone else is buying the same winter wardrobe from the same shops…

WE’LL BE MAKING OURS.

Our colours. Our fabrics. Our yarn. Our style. One of a bloody kind.
